THINGS TO KNOW

Money
The Eastern Caribbean dollar is fixed to the US dollar at a rate of $2.6882 EC per $1 US. Cash is available at several ATMs around the island, including the airports in St. Kitts and Nevis. US dollars and credit cards are accepted at most restaurants.

Weather
The "dry" season is March to July. During the period after the hurricane season, from November to March, there can be showers, but they usually don't last long. After all, this is a tropical island, and there is a rain forest. Temperatures range from 75 to 82 degrees farenheit in the winter to 84 to 89 degrees farenheit in the summer. While hurricanes can occur, they are rare. The last major storm to hit the island directly was Hugo in 1989. Most storms brush by with little fanfare. Nevis is a great place to visit any time.

Food
There are several large grocery stores around the island.

Water
Idyll Dreams is served by a cistern. The water is safe to drink, particularly if you use the refrigerator dispenser and its sophisticated filter system. Bottled water is available at most stores on the island.
